Play Pit Fighter on Snes Online
Choose a fighter and battle through one-on-one matches, throwing punches and grapples to claim victory in this arcade-style fighter.
Pit Fighter came out on the Super Nintendo in 1991, a port of the arcade game by Atari Games. It was part of that early wave of SNES releases trying to bring the arcade experience home, with digitized sprites that were a big deal at the time. You could see the effort to make it look like real people were fighting, even if the animation was a bit choppy.
You pick one of three fighters and battle through a series of one-on-one matches in different arenas. The main goal is to win each fight and eventually become the champion. The game uses digitized characters for its combat, and you have a basic moveset of punches, kicks, and grapples. Matches are fast and often feel repetitive; the difficulty spikes noticeably, especially against certain opponents who can chain attacks. It feels raw and unrefined, but landing a solid combo has a certain weight to it.
