Game Overview

Pitfall GB (Japan) is basically the Game Boy Color saying, "Hey, remember swinging over pixelated crocodiles on your Atari? Let’s do that again, but now it fits in your pocket."

You’ve got vines to swing from, snakes that somehow look even more menacing in 8-bit, and treasure chests hiding in places that make zero logical sense (why is there gold inside a tree?). The controls are surprisingly smooth for a Game Boy port—no awkward lag when you’re mid-air over a pit, which is a relief because those crocodiles don’t mess around.

It’s not some groundbreaking remake, just a solid, colorful version of the classic. Perfect for killing time on a bus ride or when you’re pretending to work. Just don’t blame me when you get way too invested in finding every last hidden diamond.
