Pitstop II is one of those old-school MS-DOS racers that actually makes you think while driving. Yeah, you're speeding around these surprisingly detailed 1984-era tracks (Monza's curves still give me trouble), but you're also constantly glancing at your fuel gauge and watching your tires wear down. Forget to pit at the right moment, and suddenly you're sliding all over the place like you're on ice.
The split-screen head-to-head mode is where it really shines—nothing like trash-talking your friend while they blow past you because you gambled on stretching your fuel one lap too long. Six tracks mean you'll memorize every bump and turn eventually, but that first time hitting the Nürburgring? Pure panic when you realize how long that back straight is with the fuel light blinking.
It's way more than just steering—you're managing a whole race strategy while trying not to spin out. Still holds up if you can handle the retro vibe.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
