Plan 9 From Outer Space is one of those weird, janky point-and-click adventures that somehow works because it leans into its own absurdity. You play as a detective hunting down six stolen film reels from the infamous 1959 Z-movie—yes, the one where Bela Lugosi’s chiropractor awkwardly fills in for him under a cape. The game nails that campy, low-budget vibe with bizarre interactions (try talking to a guy "engrossed in his food" while he’s clearly just smoking) and puzzles that feel like they were written by someone who’d had one too many coffees. It’s not polished, but that’s kind of the charm—like playing through a fever dream version of Ed Wood’s original mess. The MS-DOS port exists, but good luck finding it outside the US. If you’re into cult classics or just love adventure games with zero regard for logic, this one’s a trip.
