Play Planet of the Apes (U)(Nobody) Online
You crash-land on the ape planet, jumping through tiny platforms and fumbling with awkward combat—it’s janky but weirdly endearing. Definitely not the game you’d expect from the box art.

Ubisoft released Planet of the Apes for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, a side-scrolling action game that fit right in with the platform's early library of licensed titles. It arrived during a time when handheld adaptations of films were common, often prioritizing straightforward action over deep mechanics or narrative ambition.
You control astronaut Leo Davidson, navigating a hostile world ruled by intelligent apes. The goal is to survive, rescue human allies, and ultimately escape the planet. Gameplay involves screen-by-screen exploration, swinging from vines, and engaging in close combat with primitive weapons like spears and clubs. The pacing is deliberate, with occasional backtracking and environmental puzzles that break up the action. Encounters can feel clunky due to limited attack animations and sometimes unforgiving enemy placement. Despite its rough edges, there's a persistent sense of tension and isolation that makes progress feel earned.
