Tiny mahjong tiles with that perfect *click* sound when you match them—simple, clean Japanese rules with AI that'll wreck you until you learn the rhythms. Weirdly satisfying on a small screen.

Game Overview

Pocket Color Mahjong (Japan) is one of those Game Boy Color games that somehow feels better than it has any right to be. The tiles are small but crisp, and there’s something weirdly satisfying about hearing that little *click* sound when you match them. I thought the controls would be awkward at first, but after a couple of rounds, it just clicks—pun intended.

It’s straight-up Japanese mahjong, no gimmicks. No power-ups, no story mode, just you and the tiles. The AI isn’t pushover-level easy either—I lost my first few games embarrassingly fast. But once you get the hang of calling riichi or pulling off a sneaky tsumo, it’s stupidly addictive. Perfect for bus rides or pretending to be productive while secretly playing under your desk.

If you’ve ever been curious about mahjong but didn’t want to deal with a full physical set, this is the way to go. Just don’t blame me when you start muttering "pon" under your breath in public.
