Game Overview

Pokémon Diamond (or Diamant-Edition if you're playing the German version) is one of those DS games that just sticks with you. You start in this cozy little town, pick your first Pokémon—I always go with Chimchar, but hey, your call—and suddenly you're wandering through tall grass, getting into battles, and trying to remember where you left that guy who wanted you to deliver a parcel.

The Sinnoh region feels huge when you first explore it, with these winding routes and caves that actually make you think before running in blindly. And the underground? Spent way too much time digging for fossils and decorating secret bases when I should’ve been training for the next gym.

Battles get surprisingly tactical later on, especially when you’re up against Cynthia (good luck with that). It’s got that classic Pokémon charm, but with just enough tweaks—like the physical/special split—to keep battles interesting. If you’ve got a DS and any love for Pokémon, this one’s a no-brainer.
