Okay, so Pokémon Golden Sun isn’t actually a thing—but if you mash up Pokémon and Golden Sun, you get pretty close to what makes this GBA RPG special. You start off in this cozy little village, and before you know it, you’re flinging boulders with your mind and collecting these weird little creatures called Djinn that totally change how your party fights. The puzzles actually make you think (none of that "push the block once" nonsense), and the battles? Way more strategic than your average monster-collector.

The pixel art still holds up—those spell animations when you summon a dragon or a volcano are ridiculous in the best way. And the story? Starts slow, but once it gets going, there’s this whole conspiracy with ancient civilizations and lost powers. Feels like playing through a Saturday morning cartoon, but with way better writing. Just be warned: figuring out which Djinn to assign to which character is a rabbit hole. I spent an hour rearranging them before a boss fight and still got wrecked.

If you’ve got a soft spot for GBA-era RPGs or just want something deeper than "fight gym leaders, become champion," this one’s worth digging up. Bonus points if you like yelling "I CAST METEOR" at your screen.
