Game Overview
Pokémon Pearl was my first real dive into the Sinnoh region, and I still remember how weirdly cozy it felt—something about the chunky DS pixels and that soundtrack. You start in this little lakeside town, pick your starter (Turtwig forever), and suddenly you're wandering through tall grass getting jumped by Starlys. The gyms actually make you think, especially Fantina’s ghost types, and the underground digging minigame is weirdly addictive once you get the hang of it.
It’s got that classic Pokémon grind—leveling up your team, hunting for TMs, getting lost in Mt. Coronet—but the battles feel snappier than older games. And yeah, Cyrus is still one of the creepiest villains they’ve done. If you’ve got a DS lying around, it holds up way better than it should.
