Game Overview
Pokémon Pearl was my first proper dive into the Sinnoh region, and honestly? It still holds up. You start off in this sleepy little town, pick your first Pokémon (I always go with Chimchar—fire types just hit different), and before long you're sneaking through tall grass, trying to catch a Starly before it flees. The gym battles feel tougher here than in some later games, especially that psychic-type leader. Good luck with that.
The underground digging mini-game is weirdly addictive—I spent way too much time hunting for fossils instead of, you know, actually progressing the story. And the music? That route 209 theme still pops into my head randomly. If you’ve got a DS and a soft spot for classic Pokémon adventures, this one’s a solid pick.
