Play Pokemon: Silberne Edition SoulSilver Online

You pick your starter in New Bark Town again, but now your Pokémon trails behind you as you explore Johto’s familiar routes—and yeah, Falkner’s still rough if you went with Chikorita. That pedometer gimmick? Turns out hatching eggs by walking to work is weirdly addictive.

Game Overview

Pokémon SoulSilver is basically the best way to revisit Johto—it takes everything great about the original Silver version and polishes it up with smoother animations, touchscreen menus that actually work, and this weird little pedometer thing (the Pokéwalker) that lets you level up Pokémon by walking around in real life. I thought that part was gimmicky at first, but it’s weirdly satisfying to hatch eggs just by going for a jog.

You start in New Bark Town like always, but everything feels more alive now—your Pokémon follows behind you on the overworld, and the battle sprites have way more personality. The first gym’s still a pain if you picked Chikorita, by the way. Totodile’s the safer bet.

It’s got all the classic stuff—Team Rocket, the Red Gyarados, battling Red on Mt. Silver—but with enough tweaks to make it feel fresh. Definitely the definitive Johto experience.
