Game Overview

Pokemon Thunder Emblem feels like a weird but fun mashup of classic monster catching and tactical battles. You still wander around tall grass hoping for encounters, but the fights play out on a grid, like some kind of turn-based chess match with Pikachu.

At first, I kept losing because I treated it like a normal Pokemon game—just spamming attacks without thinking about positioning. Then a wild Geodude wiped half my team by rolling through them in a straight line. That’s when it clicked.

The sprites are simple GBA-era stuff, but there’s something satisfying about watching your squad slowly fan out across the battlefield. Pokemon Thunder Emblem isn’t perfect—some moves feel unbalanced, and the AI can be either brain-dead or brutally clever. But it’s a neat twist if you’re tired of the usual formula.
