Play Ports of Call Online
Start with a couple of beat-up freighters, then sweat over cargo prices and try not to wreck your ships while docking—somehow managing a shipping empire becomes your whole life.

Game Overview
Ports of Call is one of those old-school economic sims that somehow makes running a shipping empire weirdly addictive. You start with a couple of rusty freighters and suddenly you're obsessing over cargo prices in Singapore while trying not to ram your ship into a reef. The Amiga version had better graphics back in the day, but even the DOS version has this weird charm—especially when you're white-knuckling it through a storm or praying pirates don’t sink your most expensive tanker.
What’s cool is that it’s not just spreadsheets and trade routes—you actually steer your ships into ports, adjusting speed and angle like some kind of budget sea captain. Mess up the approach and you’ll bounce off the docks like a drunk sailor. Later, if you’re rolling in cash, you can upgrade to fancy ships that handle better (and look less like floating scrap metal). Just watch out for sudden typhoons or outbreaks of dysentery in sketchy ports. It’s a surprisingly tense little game for something with such simple graphics.
They’ve released mobile versions now with cleaner visuals, but honestly, the janky old-school vibe is half the fun. You’ll either love it or rage-quit after your third ship sinks full of expensive coffee.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
