I picked up Power Rangers: Ninja Storm for the Game Boy Advance back in 2003, a time when licensed games were everywhere. It was published by THQ, and like a lot of those titles, it was a side-scrolling beat 'em up that tried to capture the show's energy. You could tell it was made to appeal to fans of the series, with its colorful sprites and familiar characters.
You control one of the Ninja Storm Rangers, and you can switch between them during gameplay, which is handy since each has their own special moves. The main goal is to fight through screen after screen of enemy foot soldiers, using a mix of sword combos and projectile attacks. After clearing certain stages, you get to pilot a Megazord for a first-person battle that's mostly about timing your button presses to block and counter. The pacing is pretty straightforward, and the difficulty isn't too harsh, making it an easy game to jump into. It feels like a straightforward, action-packed romp that doesn't overcomplicate things.
