Power Strike came out for the Sega Master System in 1988, developed by Compile. It was one of those straightforward shoot 'em ups that felt right at home on the system, offering a solid vertical-scrolling challenge without a lot of fuss. You pilot a small ship through seven stages, shooting down enemy crafts and dodging their patterned attacks. The main goal is simply to survive each level and defeat the boss waiting at the end. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups to upgrade your main shot and secondary options, like homing missiles or protective options that orbit your ship. The pacing is methodical; you learn enemy routes and when to push forward or hold back.
