Play Powerslave Online
You creep through dark Egyptian ruins, shotgun in hand, jumping at every mummy growl—until you find artifacts that let you float over lava pits and unlock deeper into the cursed tombs.
Powerslave came out in 1996 for MS-DOS, published by Playmates Interactive Entertainment. It was one of those first-person shooters that tried to do something different, blending the run-and-gun action of its time with exploration and a strong Egyptian theme. You could tell it was aiming for more than just shooting galleries; it wanted you to feel like you were uncovering a place, not just clearing rooms.
You play as a special forces soldier trapped in a cursed Egyptian city, fighting through temples and tombs filled with scorpions, mummies, and other supernatural enemies. Your main goal is to find four ancient artifacts that will let you challenge the god Set himself. The game mixes fast-paced shooting with exploration; you collect new weapons like a flamethrower and a staff, but you also hunt for keys and power-ups that grant abilities like breathing underwater or jumping higher. The levels are maze-like and demand attention, with some backtracking once you gain new skills. It feels tense and immersive, especially when you are low on ammo and have to rely on your wits just as much as your aim.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
