Play Prime Time Online
You're staring at a grid of flashing numbers, slamming primes together before they hit zero while synth beats make your palms sweat—suddenly math feels like defusing a bomb.

Prime Time came out in 1983 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by MECC. It was one of those educational titles that tried to make learning feel less like homework, fitting right in with the era's push for computer-assisted instruction in schools and homes. You didn't need powerful hardware; a basic DOS machine and a keyboard were enough to get started.
You control a cursor that moves around a grid filled with falling numbers, and your goal is to eliminate composite numbers by breaking them down into their prime factors. The main mechanics involve quickly selecting two primes that multiply to match a target number before it reaches the bottom of the screen, all while avoiding incorrect entries that cost you time. The pacing is relentless; numbers drop faster as you progress, and the pressure builds with each level. It turns mental math into a tense, reaction-based challenge that makes getting a high score genuinely satisfying.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
