Game Overview

Prince of Persia 2 on SNES takes everything that made the first game great and cranks it up—more traps, more sword fights, and way more places to die horribly. You start off thinking you’ve got the hang of the acrobatics, then immediately faceplant into a spike pit because the timing’s just slightly tighter now. The animation’s still gorgeous, though—watching the Prince flip between ledges never gets old.

This time you’re chasing some impostor who stole your identity (rude), jumping across rooftops in Persia, sneaking through dungeons, and occasionally getting turned into a weird shadow monster. The platforming’s brutal but fair—mostly. I still yell at the screen when I mistime a jump into a bottomless pit for the tenth time.

If you liked the first game’s methodical pacing and precise controls, this one’s a no-brainer. Just maybe keep a walkthrough handy for that one obnoxious puzzle with the mirrors.
