Prince of Persia 2: The Shadow and the Flame came out in 1993, a follow-up to the original hit from Broderbund. It was a solid MS-DOS title for its time, building on the platforming and swordplay that made the first game memorable without trying to reinvent the wheel. You could tell the developers understood what players liked, and they just gave you more of it, with a few twists to keep things interesting.

You control the Prince, navigating screen by screen through palaces, dungeons, and treacherous outdoor areas. Your main goal is to reclaim your stolen identity and defeat the evil double who has taken your place. You'll do a lot of running, jumping, and climbing, but combat is a big part of it too; enemies often attack in groups, so you have to be quick with your sword. The game also introduces new abilities, like using a bow or throwing knives, and you'll need to find and drink magic potions to restore health or gain temporary powers. The pacing is tense, and the difficulty is still pretty unforgiving, with traps and bottomless pits waiting at every misstep. It feels challenging but fair, and pulling off a difficult jump or winning a tough fight is always satisfying.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
