Play R.B.I Base Ball 2 Online

Swing for the fences with '89 rosters—Nolan Ryan’s fastball feels mean, and two-player games get loud when someone hangs a curve. Quick, simple, and still satisfying.

Game Overview

R.B.I. Baseball 2 came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed and published by Tengen. It arrived late in the NES lifecycle, a time when baseball games were becoming more common but few offered official MLB licenses. This one had the players and teams from the 1989 season, which gave it an immediate hook if you followed the sport back then.

You control all nine players, handling both pitching and batting. The main goal is straightforward: score more runs than the other team. Pitching involves selecting a type of throw and aiming it; batting requires timing your swing as the ball crosses the plate. Fielding is mostly automatic, though you can manually dive for balls. The game moves quickly, with innings that don't drag, but the difficulty can spike against strong CPU teams or a skilled human opponent. It feels responsive and direct, like a quick game of catch in the backyard.
