RANGOON was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though I don't recall the developer or publisher offhand. It came out during that era when DOS games often relied on simple graphics and tight mechanics to pull you in, without much fanfare or cinematic flair. The game drops you into a dense, hostile jungle and expects you to figure things out quickly.

You control a lone adventurer armed with a basic firearm, moving screen by screen through a maze of vegetation and ancient ruins. Your main goal is survival; you hunt for keys, avoid spike pits and hidden traps, and fend off creatures that leap from the undergrowth. The shooting feels imprecise at first, almost stubborn, but after a few attempts you learn its rhythm and it starts to feel deliberate. The pacing is relentless, with little room for error, and the difficulty can be punishing if you rush. Navigating those claustrophobic pathways, with the persistent chirp of the soundtrack setting the mood, creates a tense and absorbing experience.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
