In Rescue Mission, you use a light gun to shoot enemies and protect medics as they move through dangerous areas, making every shot count to keep your team safe.
Rescue Mission came out on the Sega Master System in 1988, developed by Core Design. It was one of the few light gun games for the system, offering a different kind of experience compared to the platformers and shooters that dominated the library at the time.
You control a crosshair on screen, using the light gun to protect a squad of medics as they advance through hostile territory. Your goal is to shoot enemy soldiers, vehicles, and other threats before they can fire on your team. The game progresses screen by screen, with each new area introducing different enemy patterns and environmental hazards. The pacing is tense and deliberate; missing a shot often means losing one of your medics, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as you push forward. It feels like a constant test of focus and reaction, where every shot matters.
