Game Overview

Rescue Rover is one of those old-school MS-DOS puzzlers that looks simple at first—just a guy trying to rescue his dog—but quickly turns into a brain-melting test of patience. You start each level climbing up a ladder, and the goal is to get Rover back to that same spot without getting obliterated by robots. Sounds easy, right? Nope.

The robots are the real stars here. One just sits there menacingly, shooting you if you walk in front of it. Another’s like a hyperactive guard that chases you down, and the last one… well, it just bulldozes you on sight. You’ll spend most of your time pushing crates, angling mirrors to deflect lasers, and praying you don’t misplace a single block because one wrong move means starting over.

There’s something weirdly satisfying about finally trapping a robot in a corner or timing a laser reflection just right. And then there’s the water currents—floating crates drift with the flow, which is either a lifesaver or a total disaster depending on your setup. The later levels? Pure evil. But in a good way. If you like puzzle games that make you feel like a genius when you finally crack them, this one’s worth digging up.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
