Game Overview

F29 Retaliator's take on Robocop is way more interesting than your typical movie tie-in. Instead of just rehashing scenes, they built this weird, ambitious mix of genres—all in early 3D polygons that somehow don’t look terrible. You can jump into arcade mode and tackle levels in any order, or follow the movie’s plot in Adventure mode, where Japanese investors keep trying to replace Robocop with their dumb Robot Ninja prototypes.

First level throws you into a Chase HQ-style car chase, weaving through maze-like streets. Then suddenly you’re in first-person mode, carefully picking off criminals without hitting bystanders (which, yeah, is harder than it sounds). Later there’s a janky-but-fun flying section with the Gyropack, and a side-scrolling brawl against the very ninja bot meant to replace you. It shouldn’t work, but the sheer variety keeps it weirdly compelling.

Definitely one of the more creative Amiga licenses—just don’t expect polished controls.
