It was part of that wave of movie tie-in games from the early '90s, where you expected a certain level of jank alongside the ambition. You control RoboCop through side-scrolling levels, moving screen by screen to clear out criminals and complete objectives. Your main goal is to stop the OCP corporation's plans, which involves a lot of shooting, some light platforming, and occasional driving sections. Key mechanics include swapping between multiple weapons like your standard Auto-9 and a Cobra Assault Cannon, managing your limited ammunition, and dealing with locational damage; get hit in the arm and your aim wavers, take too many leg shots and you'll start to limp. The pacing is deliberate, often slow, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving due to limited continues and aggressive enemy placement. It feels like a rough, sometimes frustrating grind that only pays off if you enjoy mastering old-school challenge.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
