Game Overview

RoboCop 3 on the NES came out in 1992, developed by Ocean Software. It was one of those licensed games that showed up late in the console's life, trying to cash in on the movie's name. You get the standard side scrolling action you'd expect, but it feels a bit removed from the earlier entries.

You control RoboCop through a series of urban stages, shooting criminals and dodging enemy fire. The main goal is to stop the eviction of citizens in Old Detroit, which means blasting through waves of enemies and taking down bosses. You can pick up different weapons along the way, like a flamethrower or a grenade launcher, which helps break up the monotony of your standard pistol. The pacing is slow, thanks to RoboCop's heavy movement, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in later levels. It feels stiff and sometimes frustrating, but there's a certain charm in its straightforward, no frills approach.
