Robots (EU) on GBA is one of those licensed games that actually gets the movie's vibe right. You start as Rodney, running through Robot City's clanky streets, jumping between gears and platforms while dodging Ratchet's goons. The mix of 2D side-scrolling and occasional 3D angles gives it a weirdly charming look, like you're inside a rusty cartoon.
What stuck with me was the invention system. Scrounging for parts to upgrade your wrench or scrap gun feels oddly satisfying, especially when you finally blast through a tough enemy that wrecked you earlier. The levels loop back on themselves, so you're always finding new paths with hidden upgrades or missing robot parts to return.
It's not perfect—some jumps are finicky, and the transit ball minigame gets old fast—but for a movie tie-in, Robots (EU) has more heart than most. By the end, you really feel like you've helped fix up the city.
