Game Overview
Rock n' Roll Racing on SNES is basically what happens when you take RC Pro-Am, crank the volume to 11, and strap missiles to everything. You pick from these ridiculous vehicles—monster trucks, hovercrafts, the works—and then it’s just pure chaos. The soundtrack’s all Deep Purple and Black Sabbath blasting while Larry Huffman yells stuff like "T.J. is ON FIRE!" in that gloriously cheesy digitized voice.
What really kills me is how brutal the weapons are. Mario Kart’s blue shell is cute compared to taking a homing missile to the back right before the finish line. And yeah, you will scream when it happens. The four-player mode turns into pure anarchy, especially if someone picks the hovercraft—those things handle like you’re driving on butter, but the firepower makes up for it. It’s one of those games where losing by half a second still has you slamming the reset button for "just one more race."
Also, the announcer absolutely never shuts up, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
