Play Rocketeer, The (Japan) Online
Strap on the jetpack, dodge bullets between buildings, and try not to burn out your boost mid-air—controls are tricky but satisfying once you get the hang of soaring. The cheesy action-movie soundtrack somehow makes crashing into biplanes even better.

Okay, so The Rocketeer on SNES is one of those licensed games that actually gets the vibe right—you strap on the jetpack from the movie and just go. Most of the time you're zipping through levels, dodging bullets and occasionally blasting enemies with a pistol (because apparently jetpack fuel doesn’t last forever).
The controls take a second to get used to—you’ve got to manage your boost carefully or you’ll faceplant into a building. But once it clicks, weaving between biplanes and floating platforms feels surprisingly smooth. The music’s got that cheesy ‘90s action-movie energy, which somehow works perfectly.
It’s not perfect—some levels drag, and the shooting feels tacked on—but for a movie tie-in, it’s way more fun than it had any right to be. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro flight games, this one’s a solid time capsule.
