Game Overview

Rocketeer on SNES is one of those licensed games that actually gets the vibe right—you strap on the jetpack from the movie and just go. It’s mostly side-scrolling with some top-down levels, and yeah, you’ve got a gun, but half the fun is just zipping around dodging bullets like a reckless human firework. The controls take a second to get used to (that jetpack has momentum, so you’ll overshoot platforms at first), but once it clicks, weaving through enemy planes feels surprisingly smooth. Also, the music’s got that cheesy heroic fanfare that somehow never gets old. If you’ve got a soft spot for ‘90s movie tie-ins, this one’s a decent time.
