Rockman X is the Japanese version of Megaman X, and honestly, it's one of those SNES classics that still holds up. You jump in as X, a rookie android with a killer arm cannon, and team up with Zero (who’s way cooler than you at first, let’s be real). The levels are packed with hidden upgrades—like, if you don’t find the leg armor in Chill Penguin’s stage, you’re gonna have a bad time later.
The bosses are brutal but fair, and figuring out their weaknesses feels so satisfying. Also, the soundtrack? Absolute fire. That opening stage theme still gets stuck in my head. Just don’t expect Sigma to go down easy—dude’s got like three final forms, because Capcom loves dragging out boss fights.
If you’ve only played the US version, the Japanese text here doesn’t really matter since the gameplay’s identical. Still, there’s something weirdly charming about seeing “Rockman” instead of “Megaman” plastered everywhere.
