Play Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball (Beta) Online
Pitch, hit, and score runs in this arcade-style baseball game where you control the action on the field and try to outscore the other team.
Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball came out for the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Sculptured Software. It was one of the early baseball games on the system, arriving at a time when sports titles were starting to figure out how to use the SNES hardware. The game doesn't try to be a simulation; it leans into arcade style action from the start.
You control either the pitcher or the batter, depending on which half of the inning you're in. The main goal is simple: score more runs than the other team. Pitching involves selecting a type of throw, like a fastball or curve, and aiming with a cursor before timing your release. Batting requires you to position a reticle and swing at the right moment. Fielding is mostly automatic, with players darting to catch or grab the ball. The game moves quickly, with big, exaggerated player animations and a difficulty that can spike unexpectedly. It feels fast and a little chaotic, but satisfying when you connect with a pitch or send one deep into the outfield.
