Sand Storm was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it didn't have a numbered release in that series. Developed by Dynamix and published by Sierra On-Line, it was a straightforward racing game from the era when simple mechanics and responsive controls were the main draws. It didn't try to be more than it was, just a solid arcade-style experience on the platform.

You control a dune buggy from a top-down perspective, racing against time and other vehicles across sprawling desert tracks. The main goal is to finish each course as quickly as possible while avoiding obstacles like rocks and rival cars. Key mechanics include a tight, slide-heavy drift that lets you corner without losing too much speed, and a turbo boost you can collect for short bursts of acceleration. The game moves fast and demands quick reflexes, especially on later tracks where hazards multiply. It feels immediate and physical, like you're wrestling with the terrain instead of just driving on it.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
