Game Overview

Sand Storm - The Championship Version was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games release, a collection that bundled various titles from the platform's heyday. Developed by Titus Software, it arrived during a period when racing games were exploring more complex terrain and physics, moving beyond simple flat tracks.

You control a dune buggy, wrestling it across chaotic desert courses filled with jumps, sharp turns, and environmental hazards like cacti and rocks. The main objective is to finish each race ahead of aggressive AI opponents who frequently bump and shove to gain position. Signature mechanics include managing your buggy's bouncy, unpredictable suspension on uneven ground and timing jumps carefully to avoid flipping over on landing. The pacing is frantic, and the difficulty is steep, with tight competition and punishing track layouts. It feels like fighting the controls as much as the other drivers, creating a tense, sometimes frustrating, but oddly compelling drive.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
