I first came across Sango Fighter 2 back in the mid-90s, a 1995 MS-DOS release from Super Fighter Team. It was one of those games you’d find tucked away on a shareware CD, a side-scrolling fighter set during the Three Kingdoms period. At a time when fighting games were dominated by arcade ports, this one felt like a scrappy, homegrown effort with its own flavor.

You pick a warrior like Lü Bu or Zhuge Liang and fight through waves of enemy soldiers across several stages. The main goal is to defeat your rival generals in one-on-one duels, but getting there means clearing out mobs of infantry first. Combat relies on simple combos and special moves; Lü Bu’s spear can hit multiple enemies at once, while Zhuge Liang uses ranged paper talisman attacks. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike sharply during boss fights. It feels satisfying to land a clean combo and watch the crowd scatter.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
