SD Gundam Generation - Gryps Senki is one of those deep-cut SNES strategy games that only hardcore Gundam fans really knew about back in the day. It throws you right into the messy Gryps Conflict from Zeta Gundam, with all the political backstabbing and mobile suit battles you'd expect.

What's wild is how it uses the Sufami Turbo—this obscure add-on that lets you link it with other SD Gundam games. Never actually got to try that feature myself, but just the idea of combining rosters from different cartridges felt ahead of its time. The sprites are tiny and chibi-style, but somehow they still make the Qubeleys and Hyaku Shikis look cool.

First few turns are rough if you're not used to old-school grid tactics, but once you get the hang of positioning your Zakus just right, it clicks. Just don't expect hand-holding—this is very much a "figure it out as you go" kind of game.
