Play SD Hiryuu no Ken (Japan) Online
Chibi samurai and ninjas flail giant swords at each other in this goofy SNES fighter—teleport slashes, bamboo you can slice mid-battle, and all the janky charm of a forgotten ‘94 import.

SD Hiryuu no Ken is one of those weird little SNES fighters that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this goofy charm to it. The characters are all chibi versions of samurai and ninjas, swinging oversized swords and pulling off ridiculous special moves. I remember picking the ninja guy first and spamming his teleport slash until my friend got mad.
It’s not as polished as Street Fighter or anything, but the animations are surprisingly smooth for a 1994 game, and some of the stages have these weird interactive bits (like bamboo you can slice mid-fight). The music’s got that classic SNES synth-rock thing going on too. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into retro fighters with personality.
