Game Overview

Shock Troopers (Set 2) is one of those Neo Geo gems that reminds you why arcade shooters used to rule. No cutscenes, no tutorials—just you, a gun, and an army of enemies dumb enough to get in your way. The controls are stupidly simple (run, shoot, grenade), but the chaos escalates fast. One minute you're picking off grunts, the next you're dodging airstrikes while some guy in a mech suit unloads rockets at you.

What I love is how the game throws curveballs—hidden paths, surprise vehicle drops, bosses that fill half the screen. And yeah, you can totally steal enemy tanks. The co-op mode is where it really shines, though. Grab a friend, pick your merc (I always go for the guy with the flamethrower), and try not to shoot each other in the back. Spoiler: you will. A lot.

It’s not deep, but it doesn’t need to be. This is pure, unfiltered arcade mayhem—the kind where you’ll die 20 times and still hit continue because that last boss was definitely one hit away. If you miss when games were about reflexes instead of fetch quests, this one’s a blast.
