Play Sim City Online
You start with a blank map and a tiny budget, carefully placing roads and power lines until—boom—your sleepy town turns into a bustling city with skyscrapers, traffic jams, and the occasional Godzilla attack.
SimCity on SNES is one of those games that makes you lose track of time—one minute you're placing a few residential zones, the next you're obsessively tweaking your subway system to reduce traffic jams. The controls feel surprisingly smooth for a console port, and Dr. Wright popping up with his oversized head to give (sometimes questionable) advice never gets old.
You start with an empty grid and a tight budget, so those first few power plants and police stations feel like major investments. Then suddenly, boom—your little cluster of houses becomes a downtown, complete with skyscrapers and the inevitable crime wave. Disasters are half the fun, though. Nothing beats summoning Godzilla to stomp through your carefully planned blocks just because you're curious how fast the fire department can respond.
It's not perfect—traffic AI is basically black magic, and taxes are weirdly stressful—but that's part of the charm. You'll either build a utopia or bankrupt your city by overbuilding airports. No in-between.
