Game Overview

SimLife is this weird, fascinating little sandbox from the early '90s where you basically play god with DNA. You start by plopping down some plants and animals, then dive into their genetic code to tweak everything from how fast they reproduce to what they eat. Messed up my first world by making carnivores way too aggressive—they wiped out everything in like 10 minutes.

The real fun comes when you start mixing traits to create monstrosities that probably shouldn’t exist. I once made a super-fast, photosynthesizing rabbit that outcompeted all the grass. Everything starved. Whoops. The environments are just as customizable—you can crank up the temperature or turn the whole place into a desert to see what survives.

It’s janky by today’s standards, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching your frankenstein ecosystems collapse in unexpected ways. Just don’t expect anything to stay balanced for long.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
