Play Sky Shark on Msdos Online
Your tiny plane weaves through swarms of bullets while tanks and battleships blast away—one wrong move and you're a pixelated fireball. That chiptune soundtrack still haunts me after all these years.

Sky Shark came out in 1989 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Taito Corporation. It was a straightforward vertical shooter in an era when many games were still figuring out how to make the most of the PC's limited sound and graphics. You got what you paid for: a no-frills port of an arcade-style experience that ran on just about any machine with a CGA or EGA card.
You pilot a fighter plane, scrolling upward automatically while blasting enemy aircraft, tanks, and ships. Your main goal is to survive as long as possible, racking up points and clearing each screen of threats before moving to the next. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups to upgrade your forward-firing guns and bombs that clear the screen, plus managing your limited lives against relentless enemy fire. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty spikes quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and memorization of attack patterns. It feels tense and immediate, a pure test of concentration and timing.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
