Play Solitare Online
Sort and stack cards in descending order while building foundation piles, drawing from the stockpile, and revealing hidden cards in this classic card game.
I first played Solitaire on a friend's MS-DOS machine back in the early 90s, part of the Microsoft Entertainment Pack. It was one of those simple, quiet games that came bundled with the system, a digital version of the classic card game you could play without any setup or cleanup. In an era when many games demanded fast reflexes or complex strategies, Solitaire offered a different kind of challenge, one of patience and order.
You control the cursor to click and drag cards, building four foundation piles from ace to king, each in its own suit. The main objective is to clear the entire tableau by sequencing cards in descending order and alternating colors. Key mechanics include drawing cards from the stockpile, usually three at a time, and revealing face-down cards in the columns only when the one on top is moved. The pacing is slow and thoughtful; the difficulty comes from the luck of the draw and your own ability to plan several moves ahead. It feels like untangling a quiet, persistent puzzle.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
