Play Sonic Advance 3 (E)(TrashMan) Online
Pick two characters—their moves combine in wild ways, letting you carve new paths through levels built for speed. Some duos feel downright unfair, in that perfect Sonic way.
So, Sonic Advance 3—it’s the one where they finally went all-in on the tag-team gimmick. You pick two characters at the start (Sonic and Tails? Knuckles and Cream? Weird combos work too), and their abilities stack in ways that actually change how you blast through levels. Some pairs feel broken in the best way—like, good luck finding all the chaos emeralds without certain matchups.
It’s got that same snappy GBA speed as the first two, but the levels feel bigger, with more alternate paths depending on who you’re playing as. Also, yeah, the story ties into Sonic Battle (weird flex, but okay), and you’ll recognize some sound effects and music lifted straight from it. Not a bad thing—Battle had a killer soundtrack.
Honestly, it’s the most experimental of the Advance trilogy, and that either clicks for you or doesn’t. I still go back to it just to mess with the tag mechanics.
