So, Sonic Advance 3—it’s the one where they finally went all-in on the tag team mechanic. You pick two characters at a time (Sonic and Tails, Knuckles and Cream, etc.), and they actually interact in ways that matter. Sonic’s speed boosts Tails’ flight, while Knuckles can just yeet Cream across gaps. Weirdly fun combos.
The levels feel faster than the first two games, but they also expect you to actually use your partner’s abilities instead of just blitzing through. Some of the music and sound effects are straight from Sonic Battle, which is either nostalgic or lazy, depending on how much you liked that game. Either way, it’s still classic Sonic chaos, just with a buddy system.
Honestly, the story’s whatever—Eggman’s up to nonsense again—but the tag mechanics make replays way more interesting than they should be.
