Play Sonic Bros (SMB1 Hack) [a1] Online
A crossover hack placing Sonic in Mario-style platforming stages.

Game Overview
Sonic Bros (SMB1 Hack) [a1] is exactly what it sounds like—Sonic awkwardly shoved into Mario's NES platforming world. The first thing you notice is how weird it feels to see Sonic's sprites in this environment, running through blocky, familiar stages but with none of his usual speed or momentum.
Controls are stiff, like trying to steer a shopping cart with a broken wheel. You can tell it's just a reskin because Sonic still moves like Mario, complete with the same floaty jumps. The level layouts don't account for his character at all, so you'll hit enemies you'd normally spin dash through, or get stuck in pits that weren't designed for his movement.
It's a novelty at first, but wears off fast. Sonic Bros (SMB1 Hack) [a1] feels more like a proof of concept than a real game. Still, there's something oddly charming about seeing him in 8-bit form, even if it doesn't quite work.
