Space Ace II: Borf’s Revenge is one of those old-school laserdisc games where you feel like you’re playing through a Don Bluth cartoon—because you basically are. You guide Dexter (or his buffed-up Space Ace form) through quick-time events, hitting arrows or the shoot button at just the right moment to dodge traps or blast Borf’s goons. Mess up, and you get a hilariously dramatic death scene before the game yanks you back to try again.
It’s all about memorizing the timing—some scenes flash by in seconds, and if you blink, you’re toast. The Amiga version cuts a few corners (fitting this on 12 floppies couldn’t have been easy), but the charm’s still there. Just don’t expect to beat it in one sitting unless you’ve got the reflexes of a caffeinated squirrel.
