Game Overview

Space Ace II: Borf’s Revenge came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by ReadySoft Incorporated. It was a follow-up to the original Space Ace, using the same laserdisc-based animation style that felt pretty advanced for its time, even if the hardware sometimes struggled to keep up. The game continued the story of Dexter and his alter ego, Ace, picking up right where the first one left off.

You control Ace, or sometimes Dexter, through a series of quick-time events and branching paths. The main goal is to rescue Kimberly from Borf while avoiding deadly traps and fighting off enemies. Signature mechanics include timed button presses to dodge or attack, occasional shooting segments, and choosing different routes that change how scenes play out. The pacing is relentless; you have to react fast, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with mistakes leading to instant (and often elaborate) failure animations. It feels like a tense, interactive cartoon where every decision matters right up to the last second.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
