I picked up Spider-Man 3 for the Game Boy Advance back in 2007, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was a time when handheld games were often scaled-down versions of their console counterparts, and this one tried to capture the movie's action in a 2D side-scrolling format. You control Spider-Man, swinging and fighting through a series of levels based on the film's plot. The main goal is to stop Sandman and Venom, moving from one screen to the next, beating up thugs and dodging hazards. Signature mechanics include using the black suit for stronger, more aggressive attacks and precise web-swinging to navigate gaps and avoid enemies. The pacing is brisk, with some tricky platforming sections that demand good timing. It feels responsive and fast, even if the combat can get a bit repetitive after a while. Landing a perfect combo and swinging away just as another enemy lunges gives a real sense of momentum.
