You start off in Bikini Bottom before getting swept into this whole Atlantis adventure, and honestly, the underwater city looks way cooler here than in the show. The puzzles aren't brain-meltingly hard, but some had me scratching my head for a minute (looking at you, jellyfish maze).
What surprised me is how much they packed into a DS cart—Patrick still says ridiculous stuff, Squidward complains about everything, and there's even this weird rhythm minigame where you play along with a band of Atlantean musicians. Graphics hold up surprisingly well for an older handheld title, though SpongeBob's laugh might get stuck in your head after a while.
It's not going to win awards for deep storytelling, but if you want something silly and nostalgic that doesn't take itself seriously, this is a solid choice.
