Star Goose! came out on the Amiga in 1988 from Firebird Software. It was one of those shoot 'em ups that felt right at home on the platform, with colorful graphics and a quirky sense of humor that stood out without trying too hard.

You pilot a goose-shaped starfighter through a series of side-scrolling levels, shooting down waves of egg-shaped robots and dodging attacks from alien plants. Your main goal is to rescue space chicks scattered throughout each stage while collecting power-ups like feather bombs for area attacks and cosmic corn for temporary invincibility. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, especially during the multi-stage boss fights. It feels frantic and a little silly, but in a way that makes you want to try just one more time.
